Me-109G-5 shoot "Vliegend museum Seppe"

15-03-2025

Today i had to chance to meet up with the owner of this Messerschmitt Me-109 G-5 at the museum where it is put on display. This particular aircraft has quite a history. Salvaged from its crash location. And reassembled with original pieces of other Me-109 aircraft.

Me-109G-5 flew in Jagdgeschwader 53 (JG 53) as Schwarze 11 with serial 15343.

It was shot down by a P-47 Thunderbolt when operating from Schiphol during WWII

Under normal circumstances the aircraft can only be admired during a guided tour trip, being it is a flying museum. But since the owner agreed to meet up with me i was allowed to go up close to the aircraft. The owner was very patient and gave a lot of background info while i was taking pictures. A very nice experience. And anyone who knows me this means a lot of pictures. A really nice way to spend a cold and windy Saturday afternoon.
