Dutch Starfighter Association

Another day, another trip. This time a visit to the Dutch Starfighter Foundation. A dedicated group of enthousiasts with a KLum background who are lovingly taking care of Starfighter D-8114. The aircraft is kept in a pristine condition. The only thing it is missing is its engine. Something they are working on a the moment. The final goal is making it flightworthy again in few years time.

Every now and then they allow little groups to visit the hangar to showcase their hidden treasure. After arriving at the hangar, you will receive a little presentation about the history of this particular F-104G and what is going on at the moment in the restoration process. The workings of the aircraft are also displayed when they put the aircraft under electric and hydraulic power. Cycling the landing gear and many more features are demonstrated.

As a photographer i was anxious to see the aircraft outside the hangar. And today we were lucky. The sun was out, so they pushed the aircraft outside to take some beautiful shots. This alongside a resident F-16  J-616 in its 50th anniversary color scheme.
